The FAM Network is a free program for first generation students at the University of Alabama designed to connect students with alumni mentors (UA alumni and friends) who work in their intended career field. Alumni and students’ will meet virtually or in-person throughout the academic year to provide guidance with students’ personal and professional development and goals. Monthly meetings are required, but mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet more than required. There will be a form that each mentor and mentee will fill out after the monthly meeting. Monthly themes and question sheets will be provided; however, the mentor and mentee are welcome to talk about other things. The student-mentor pairing will last until April 2024, but students and mentors are free to continue their relationship beyond the program end date. Pairings will be based on availability of both students and mentors. Please contact famnetwork@ua.edu with any questions. Student and Alumni sign-ups are now open for 2023-2024.
