Lauren Gilonske, SGA’s Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, is excited to launch the application for this year’s DEI Certification! Three years ago, under former Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Demarcus Joiner, and with the guidance of Dr. Christine Taylor, the idea for the SGA DEI Certificate program was born. In its inaugural year, the program changed the way SGA implemented DEI programming and continues to cultivate an expectation of success and large campus participation. Capitalizing on the energy and success of past years, the Co-Directors for the DEI Certification Program, Teralan Matthews and Earl Msimanga, are excited to kick-of this year’s DEI Certification Program. The DEI Certificate Program is an opportunity for students to become proactive in their involvement with ensuring diversity, equity, and inclusion on our campus. Students will have the unique opportunity to equip themselves with the tools and resources to become a more knowledgeable and inclusive member of our community. Through full participation and engagement with the program, our campus will receive comprehensive educational instruction in many facets of diversity, including the topics of race, LGBTQIA+, disability, and much more. We are hopeful that you decide to join us in this experience. If you have any questions, please reach out to us!
